Laguna Beach Family Hikes – Laguna Coast Wilderness Park

Laguna Beach Family Hike

Enjoy a hike with your family in the tranquil Laguna Coast Wilderness Park, just minutes from the bustling Village of Laguna Beach – Escape to Nature while exploring Laguna Beach wildlife with OC Parks Resource Specialist Rick Schaffer. Beautiful rock formations dotted with caves amid lush groves in this pristine wilderness area, abundant with bird song and deer and signs of coyote and bob cat. Rocky bluffs tower above the canyon trails, winter rains yield fresh springs, and a graceful waterfall flows in this protected refuge where Laguna Beach plein-air artist’s have captured Impressionist landscape paintings for years.

The hike in the Laguna Coast area of Wood Canyon is hosted by the Laguna Canyon Foundation. Forty miles of trails lead the visitor through oak and sycamore woodlands and up onto ridges with expansive scenic vistas in one of the last remaining coastal canyons in Southern California. Join other families on this moderate two-mile hike (300-ft elevation gain) over uneven and rocky terrain, so wear good hiking shoes. Ages 7 and up. The hike is free, but you do need to register. For more information and to get directions to the hike’s starting place. call: 949-497-8324.
